Review the Socal Explorer maps under the section Mapping a Movement.  Then read the report on Black Migration Statistics and closely examine the school board’s choice of physical locations for the proposed schools.

1.Why would civil rights activists protest these placements?

2. How might the community’s economic status impact school resources?

3. Explain how the neighborhood policy (regulations that require children attend schools close to their community) lead to segregated schools.
